How did you attract/address your audience? This is the Final video of the thriller opening with annotations about how I feel I have attracts the audience.
The feedback I received helped me to see where I could improve and what worked well in my opening. By making these improvements, I will be able to address a wider audience. My main aim of my opening was to engage the audience, raise awareness about harassment and domestic abuse and build up enough suspense to leave them wanting more.

Who would be the audience for your media product?
INFO: Graduated from University with a degree for English. She's now working as a sales assistant.
Monica enjoys watching psychological thrillers as she says "its something about the unknown which keeps me on the edge of my seat". She generally enjoys thriller movies like Black Swan, Insidious, Paranormal Activity and particularly Gone Girl. She says "I loved watching Gone Girl because there was something sophisticated about the thriller. The actress is first shown as a victim and the husband is shown as the evil person especially from the first line of the movie about the brains. I loved this movie." She goes on to talk about my idea of the thriller. "I like Simran's idea of the thriller as it could really raise awareness about issues that happen in the household as well as being stalked". Monica mostly watches these movies online and on Netflix. She said "sometimes I like watching them thrillers the cinema, but I like to hold someone next to me when watching something very tense". I believe that my thriller would appeal to many young female adults as they may be able to relate to the issues introduced in my psychological thriller.
Generic Feedback- The effects used on the flashback look really good. the ghosts really help to show its a flashback as well as the colour.
- It relates to real life situations that are happening today.
- Its quite abstract and open to interpretation.
- the sound effects used really help build up to the climax
- "I would love to see what happens in the rest of the movie"

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
These screenshots show the special effects that I have used in my thriller opening scene. The first screenshot shows the actress exercising in the park, but someone is watching her through binoculars. I created this in After effects. Initially, I was not going to use this shot as I was having problems with the camera focusing which didn't look normal for the human eye when watching someone. I decided to put this binocular effect on it which made the thriller look more eerie. I did this by creating a black solid and used a series of overlapping and masking with two circles. I then adjusted the colour and made more masks to create the dust around the spec to make this shot look more authentic and real. I exported this through alpha channel and inserted the original clip.
This is a shot from the flashback scene. I used an effect called 'echo'. This helped create the ghost effect. This helped show that time was passing. For the flashback scene I also adjusted the reds and yellows through colour correction, and over exposed the shots to make the clips look like they are from the past. To highlight the key moments in the flashback I used a white solid for a few frames with the sound of a box camera. This helped with the flow and to make it look more interesting so the audience could feel empathetic towards the female.
